Device Lab data downloads
Published
Device Lab results are available as a machine-readable list. Each study also has a data package, and each harness version has hash lists. The study data package and the harness v1 lock both state the CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org) licence. The citation page explains how to credit OpenPWA.
Results
Section titled “Results”/lab/results.json holds the Device Lab’s published runs, one record per run, as shown on the behaviour pages. Each record identifies the behaviour topic, tests, harness version, and main harness files behind the result. The SHA-256 values identify the frozen files served by harness v1; they do not record what the phone loaded. The record also gives the device, OS version and build, result, confidence label (A for an instrumented read, S for a screenshot or recording), and supporting notebook entries.
Study data packages
Section titled “Study data packages”The iOS 18.6.2 study package is at /research/2026-10-ios18-home-screen-web-apps/data/. The README lists the contents: the lab notebook (entries N01 to N66), the report, the findings, the protocol, the raw reads with their sidecars, the probe scripts with the hashes recorded during the run, the screenshots, the trimmed recording with key frames, and SHA256SUMS over every file. The same files are offered as one zip archive. The README also describes the privacy edits made for the public copy, such as blanked screenshot areas and a replaced extension identifier.
Harness hash lists
Section titled “Harness hash lists”Use these files to check harness v1 hashes.
- /lab/harness/v1/SHA256SUMS.txt: one line per file, the SHA-256 of the bytes
openpwa.netserves. The snapshot loop in the iPhone and iPad guide compares the live files against it. - /lab/harness/v1/lock.json: the full lock. For each of the 52 files it gives the source hash and the served hash with their byte sizes, the commit that added the file and whether it existed when the baseline run began. It also lists the run-time snapshots from the study’s data package and an
erratalist, which is empty.
The harness v1 page explains why the source and served hashes differ for some files.
