Terms of Service

These terms explain how OpenPWA works as a web app discovery directory, what we expect from users and developers, and where responsibility shifts to third-party app publishers.

Effective: May 18, 2026Applies to browsing, saving, opening and submitting listings
Plain-English summary

Use OpenPWA to discover and submit legitimate browser-native apps. Do not submit deceptive, unsafe or infringing listings. Apps listed on OpenPWA are operated by their own publishers, not by OpenPWA.

Discovery serviceOpenPWA curates public app metadata, installability signals, screenshots, categories and links that help people evaluate web apps before opening them.
Independent publishersEach listed app remains controlled by its publisher. Their terms, pricing, uptime, account rules and privacy practices apply once you leave OpenPWA.
Quality reviewWe may edit, reject, rank, annotate or remove listings to protect users, reduce spam and keep the directory useful.

1. Using OpenPWA

You may browse, search, save, share and open app listings for personal or business evaluation. You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with security controls, scrape at abusive rates, submit false information, impersonate others, or use OpenPWA to distribute malware, phishing, spam, illegal content or deceptive experiences.

2. Developer submissions

When you submit an app, you confirm that the listing information is accurate, you have the right to provide the submitted text and media, and the destination URL is safe for users. A strong submission should include a public app URL, a clear product description, a representative icon, real screenshots and accurate category/installability signals.

3. Listing changes, ranking and removal

OpenPWA may normalize metadata, add editorial context, adjust categories, run automated PWA checks, change ranking logic, or remove listings that are low quality, unsafe, abandoned, duplicative, misleading or inconsistent with the directory's purpose. We are not required to publish every submission.

4. Third-party apps and links

Opening or installing an app takes you to a third-party service. OpenPWA does not control third-party code, accounts, payments, subscriptions, data handling, content moderation, customer support or availability. Review the publisher's own terms and privacy policy before creating an account or sharing data.

5. Intellectual property

OpenPWA's site design, editorial organization, metadata presentation and brand assets belong to OpenPWA or its licensors. App names, logos, screenshots and trademarks remain owned by their respective publishers or rights holders and are displayed for identification, review and directory purposes.

6. Service availability and warranties

OpenPWA is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep the directory useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, complete accuracy, security of third-party apps, continued availability of listings, or fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenPWA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for losses caused by third-party apps, publisher behavior, external websites, downtime, data loss or user decisions based on listing information.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and may add additional notice in the product. For listing, rights or policy questions, use the developer submission flow or the contact channel provided by OpenPWA.
