Privacy Policy

OpenPWA is designed as a lightweight discovery layer. We collect the minimum information needed to operate listings, review submissions, prevent abuse and understand aggregate product performance.

Effective: May 18, 2026Covers browsing, saved apps, analytics and developer submissions
Privacy posture

We do not need sensitive personal data to run OpenPWA. Do not include private credentials, personal documents or sensitive user information in listing descriptions, screenshots or submission notes.

Information we process

Usage eventsPage views, searches, category clicks, app opens, install-related interactions and coarse referral context help us understand whether discovery is working.
Saved-app stateIf you save or compare apps in the browser, OpenPWA may use local browser storage and a session identifier to keep the experience consistent.
Submission dataDeveloper submissions may include app name, URL, description, category, tags, screenshots, icon URLs, optional contact email and automated probe results.
Operational signalsWe may process timestamps, request metadata, abuse-prevention signals and diagnostic errors to secure and maintain the service.

How we use information

Cookies, local storage and analytics

OpenPWA may use browser local storage for saved apps, a lightweight session identifier and preference state. We may record first-party analytics events such as page views, app clicks and submission events. We use these signals in aggregate to improve the product rather than to build sensitive personal profiles.

Third-party apps

When you open, install, sign into or purchase something from a listed app, you are interacting with that publisher directly. Their privacy policy controls their collection and use of data. OpenPWA does not receive your account data, payment details or private activity inside those third-party apps unless the publisher separately sends it to us.

Data sharing

We may share limited information with service providers that host, secure, analyze or operate OpenPWA. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell sensitive personal information.

Retention and deletion

We keep operational and submission records only as long as reasonably needed for review, abuse prevention, analytics, legal compliance and product operation. Listings may remain public while an app is published. To request correction or removal of a listing or submitted contact information, contact us through the developer flow.

Your choices

You can clear local browser storage to remove saved-app state on your device. You can choose not to submit optional contact information. Developers and rights holders can request listing corrections, ownership clarification, media replacement or removal review.

Security, children and international access

We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards, but no web service can guarantee perfect security. OpenPWA is not directed to children under 13. Because the web is global, information may be processed in locations different from where you live, subject to appropriate operational safeguards.
